At dawn on April 20th, theMeihu Intelligent Manufacturing·2025 Chongqing Shapingba Global Alumni Half Marathon, hosted by the Shapingba District Committee and District Government, kicked off under the morning sun. Five thousand runners gathered along Shabin Road, igniting the scenic city with their passion.

Amid this highly anticipated sporting event, the university’s Alumni Association actively mobilized alumni to register, with47 alumniultimately securing spots in the half marathon. The Alumni Association, in collaboration with the Physical Education Department and University Trade Union, carefully selected10 runners (8 men and 2 women)to form the"Chongqing University of Science and Technology (CQUST) Team"for the team competition, while an additional5 alumniparticipated in the mini-marathon. Our alumni showcased the spirit of CQUST with unwavering enthusiasm and fighting vigor. Notably,Xu Jing, a Class of 2016 alumna, clinchedsecond place in the women’s half marathon, and theCQUST Team secured second place in the team event.

To provide heartfelt support for participating alumni, the Alumni Association meticulously planned and organized efforts, recruiting over a dozen volunteers to assist with pre-race training. On the competition day, they established"CQUST Support Stations"along the course route. Themed photo booths featuring campus elements not only offered supplies to alumni but also served as pivotal gathering points for fostering alumni connections. Post-race, participants enthusiastically shared that catching sight of the familiar university crest instantly energized them.

By around 9 a.m., as the final runner crossed the finish line, the event concluded successfully. This half marathon transcended mere athletic competition—it became a bond uniting alumni emotions and vividly demonstrated the university’s spirit of unity and perseverance.
