On the morning of January 24th, Chongqing University of Science and Technology (CQUST) organized a dumpling and tangyuan (glutinous rice ball)-making event at Heyuan Dining Hall to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Vice President Zhou Xiong, leaders from the International Affairs Office and Youth League Committee, along with faculty advisors, joined international students and local student representatives staying on campus for the occasion.

The venue was adorned with festive decorations—red lanterns, Chinese knots, and "Fu" (blessing) charms—creating a vibrant Lunar New Year atmosphere brimming with joy. Fresh dumpling wrappers, tangyuan dough, and a diverse array of fillings were neatly arranged on tables. Students eagerly joined the activity, with some tasked with rolling wrappers and others shaping the fillings. Faculty members participated alongside students, engaging in lively conversations about academics and daily life, amidst bursts of laughter.

Participants expressed that, despite being unable to return home for the holiday, crafting dumplings and tangyuan alongside teachers and peers—and savoring their handmade creations—filled them with a heartfelt sense of New Year spirit and familial warmth. The aroma of dumplings and the camaraderie it fostered became a source of inspiration. This event not only allowed students to experience the joy of traditional Chinese culinary arts but also deepened their appreciation for cultural heritage and strengthened faculty-student bonds. Attendees vowed to persevere in the coming year, pursuing dreams and personal growth in both their studies and lives.
