On April 16th, the2025 Chongqing Municipal Conference on Language and Character Work, hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, was successfully convened at our university. The event brought together leading officials from the Municipal Education Commission, representatives of affiliated institutions, as well as administrative leaders and staff from75 higher education institutionsand41 districts/countiesacross Chongqing.Qu Rui, Deputy Secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Education Work Committee, andLu Minglun, Second-Level Inspector of the Municipal Education Commission, attended the conference and delivered keynote speeches. The meeting was presided over byQiu Xiaohong, Director of the Municipal Education Commission’s Department of Textbooks and Language & Character Administration.

The conference conveyed the spirit of the2025 National Conference on Language and Character Work, summarized the key achievements of Chongqing’s language and character initiatives in 2024, and outlinedsix priority tasksfor 2025.

Participants also engaged in on-site observations of the"Eight Major Brands" Action Plan for Chongqing’s Language and Character Workand an exhibition ofTen Exemplary Casesfrom the city’sChinese Classics Recitation Project.
