Recently, Chongqing Municipal Education Commission and Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission jointly issued a document announcing the list of municipal characteristic demonstration for software college construction, and our university was included thanks to “Characteristic Demonstration Software Institute” in the field of large-scale industrial software declared by the School of Intelligent Technology and Engineering.

It is reported that, the Ministry of Education initiated the first batch of characteristic demonstration software institutions in October 2020, with the aim to actively respond to the challenges of the new scientific and technological revolution, industrial change, and to implement the requirements of the national software development strategy. The Municipal Education Commission and the Municipal Economic Information Commission jointly issued a notice to carry out the declaration of building “Chongqing Characteristic Demonstration Software Institution”. After the declaration of each university and expert evaluation followed, a total of 11 undergraduate institutions such as Chongqing University and 6 higher vocational institutions such as Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering were included.
